Characterization of the Omicron Trigger Generator and Transient Analysis of aLIGO Data

چکیده
Omicron is a burst-type trigger generator. We performed coincidence tests between Omicron generated triggers of ER5 LIGO data and various types of injection waveforms (Sine-Gaussian, White-Noise-Burst, and String Cusp) using a Coincidence Finder program that we developed. Through these tests we determined the efficiency at which the Omicron trigger generator is able to detect specific transient events with varrying sets of parameters. We tested and debugged a new version of Omicron and utlized Omicron to perform a close analysis of lock time data at the gravitational wave detector in Livingston, Louisiana. From this analysis we were able to classify noise events and determine several of their sources.

Parameters estimation of dynamic model of synchronous generators is an essential prerequisite for viable and reliable power system operation and offline studies. Advent of phasor measurement units (PMU) and its growing applications in power systems have led to an evolution in the electric power network wide-area monitoring, protection, and control. Alongside, these devices have revealed unprece...
متن کاملTransient Characteristics of a Single-Effect Absorption Refrigeration Cycle
This paper deals with a lumped-parameter dynamic simulation of a single-effect LiBr-H2O absorption chiller. In many studies the thermodynamic properties of LiBr-H2O solution were taken from some approximate relations causing the results to be somewhat inaccurate. These relations were used to solve simultaneous differential equations involving the continuity of species constituting the LiBr-H2O ...
متن کاملEffect of Different Turbine-generator Shaft Models on the Subsynchronous Resonance Phenomenon in the Double Cage Induction Generator Based Wind Farm
This paper focuses on the turbine-generator shaft models of double-cage Induction Generator (IG) based wind farm and its influence on the sub-synchronous resonance phenomenon. For this purpose, six different shaft models as 6-mass, 4-mass, 3-mass I, 3-mass II, 2-mass and 1-mass models are considered for double-cage IG wind-turbine. By using the linear modal analysis method, the effects of the d...
متن کاملPower System Transient Stability Analysis Based on the Development and Evaluation Methods
A novel method to compute the stability region in power system transient stability analysis is presented. This method is based on the set analysis. The key to this method is to construct the Hamilton-Jacobi-Isaacs (HJI) partial differential equation (PDE) of a nonlinear system, using which we can compute the backward reachable set by applying the level set methods. The backward reachable set of...
متن کاملAn Improved Modular Modeling for Analysis of Closed-Cycle Absorption Cooling Systems
A detailed modular modeling of an absorbent cooling system is presented in this paper. The model including the key components is described in terms of design parameters, inputs, control variables, and outputs. The model is used to simulate the operating conditions for estimating the behavior of individual components and system performance, and to conduct a sensitivity analysis based on the give...
